My parents have lost numerous friends since my brother came out to us. How can people who have known you your entire life, just walk away because you tell them you are gay? I don’t get it. My brother is still the same obnoxious guy he always was. The only difference is, the guys he used to “hang out” with have become his boyfriends at one time or another. I will protect and defend my brother’s right to love who he wants!

I recently opened up and announced that I was gay.

A few days later, a group of 15 people came outside my house, holding signs and shouting abuse because of it. 

My 5 year-old sister ran outside, and shouted “Leave my brubby alone!” 

As loud as she could. 

Everyone left after that.
